Gröbming

Hi!!

Gröbming was the second-last place we stayed in Austria, because after Gröbming we went to All tau See and then back to India. The hotel we were staying had a pool, which was very exciting, because even in Vienna, the pool that the other hotel had was very small, and more like a jacuzzi than an actual pool. But this pool was MASSIVE by comparison, is was a proper sky-blue blue and I could swim in it! We did swim in the pool after we got there, but that was in the evening. The first couple things we did when we got to the hotel is check in, which obviously isn’t that interesting because thats what you do when you go to any hotel. But WHILE the adults were checking in, I was very busy playing in their garden. Their garden was like a park, except bigger, and with less stuff. There was a super fun swing-hammock as you walked toward the back, a sandpit, seesaw swings and then a very cool zip-line. Basically there was this wooden ramp, that had a wooden support on top of a four poster bed, and a zip-line attached to that. So you would swing yourself off of the ramp on the seat, and it would be a little terrifying when you hit the two tires at the end of the line, which made you swing up sideways. The swings were lots of fun as well, but they were flat, like wooden panels, not like they are here, in India, because here they’re little cloth seats that are malleable and flexible so it makes it a little more comfy. Unfortunately, we went up to see our room soon, but I figured that I was their for three whole days, I would have PLENTY of time to hang in the garden, which I did, so. Our room was very nice, there was a separate bed for me, and it was under a sloping sort of roof, which made it feel a bit like a attic, but it was nice.

The place we went out for lunch at was very cool though. It served burgers and was I don’t remember what was called, but it had a cow that was painted black on the front, like a model of one that was hollowed out, but it had lines drawn on it, which showed the different part of the cow that was used for different purposes. The food there was AMAZING. I had this baby pot of mac and cheese and a chicken burger, and the mac and cheese was SO NICE, it was melty and gooey, and a very pastel yellow. It didn’t smell very good, but it did taste good. My Mum said that it didn’t smell good because it had blue cheese in it, and I had never had blue cheese before, but I do want to have it again. We walked around the town centre for a little bit, and it was a very pretty town centre. All the lampposts had had baskets of glamorously gorgeous flowers that were just like the ones growing on the sidewalk. The church we saw was so so SO beautiful. We hung around in town for a bit, went back to the restaurant to eat dessert, and then went back to the hotel.

So, we basically just chilled for the rest of the day, we swam in the pool (I actually managed to swim, which was very surprising), we all jumped on the trampoline together and then went to bed after that.

The Next Day we went up a mountain again, and it was very cold, and lots of fun. The name of this mountain was Dachstein and I do know that some of the details might be a little jumbled but I do know that this time we drove, it was a lot colder, and this time the tram was more like a bus then a car, like we didn’t have our own thing to sit in, there were other people with us as well.

The place we went to previously was a tourist attraction as well, but this one felt more like it was an attraction, like there was a full gift shop, and an ice castle, that was actually made of ice, and it was so cool because there was this funky lighting, made of led lights, but there was actual ice, we went inside, and they had made a throne out of ice that you could sit on and take all sorts of cool photos with, and the ice sculptures were detailed and precise, and there were so many different ones! There was one of a motorcycle, a helicopter, and some others stuff as well, like a goblet. I didn’t think that it was possible for the to actually make it out of ice, but I’m pretty sure it was real ice, and it was freezing inside, I slipped many many times, but didn’t fall, thankfully, because I think that would have hurt. When we came back down we hung around in the fields near the road, and to a waterfall, and a forest that looked like a fairy forest. We went back to the hotel pretty soon, and then went bowling IN THE HOTEl for the rest of the night. Gröbming was probably my favourite because of all the fun stuff we did there.

The next day we moved on to our last place. Rohan went back to India as well, so it was just Mama, Papa and me.
